| The Moral Force of Women

Sister Heidi Romney gave the lesson this week. Her lesson was based on the conference talk, The Moral Force of Women by D. Todd Christofferson. Heidi told of a time when she was young and had stolen a piece of candy. She shared how her mother taught her the value of honesty and hard work. She then had several sisters share personal examples of women who had impacted their lives for good. It was largely by example that the women mentioned influenced others for good. They lived good lives, loved others, encouraged the best in those around them. They were women who were generous, kind, and not judgmental.
Heidi highlighted three points from this conference talk:
- Express gratitude for the influence of good women.
- Identify some of the philosophies and trends that threaten women's strength and standing.
- Voice a plea to women to cultivate the innate moral power within them.
She shared this quote from Elder Christofferson, "Sisters, I don’t want to overpraise you as we sometimes do in Mother’s Day talks that make you cringe. You don’t have to be perfect."
It was a beautiful lesson and reminder that we women can be a tremendous influence for good.
