Theresa Burton's
lesson today was on how to live joyfully
in troubled times. She highlighted her lesson by inviting three sisters to share their
personal experiences about how they have learned to overcome trials in their life.
- Sheri McCall was asked to speak on how having faith in God gives us hope for our future. Sheri shared this quote from President Henry B. Eyring, "If you are on the right path, it will always be uphill. The Lord is anxious to lead us to the safety of higher ground."
- Tricia Biggs was asked to share her thoughts on how she has righteously hung on through adversity. Her strength has come by keeping a journal, often listening to General Conference talks, and using church media, such as the Mormon Channel.
- Georgianna Anderson was asked to speak on how to be happy during trials. She shared how she has kept happy during some very trying trials in her life by having a passion for keeping a positive focus. Her Bishop , years ago, told her that your attitude is a choice. She took that advise to heart and realized that you have to go through the trial no matter what, so make the choice to see the positive from the experience rather than the negative.
In closing, Sister Burton shared this quote from
President Eza Taft Benson, "We will never be alone if we live as we
should, because our Father will always be with us to bless us. He wants us to
be successful. He wants us to be happy. He wants us to achieve the good goals
we set. He will do His part if we do our part."
