The Facts

  • She was born in Logan, Utah, and raised mainly in Salt Lake City.
  • She is the oldest of five siblings, with one sister and three brothers.
  • She attended Brigham Young University, majoring in Elementary Education. (Her skills and knowledge surely came in handy in her role as a mother!)
  • She met her husband while they were both freshmen at BYU.*
  • She has four great kids:
    • Anne-Marie, age 26: married, with an 11-month-old daughter
    • Jake, age 23: a former full-time missionary of the Canada Edmonton Mission and in his second year of law school at BYU
    • Brad, age 14: recently shared his talents at the piano in sacrament meeting
    • Tim, age 11: of The Odd Life of Timothy Green fame?!?
  • She just celebrated her 28th anniversary with husband Jeff.
  • She has lived in Utah, New Mexico, and California, as well as the great state of Texas.
  • She works at “Happiness Is Quilting” in McKinney Square.
  • She enjoys cooking, classical music, and musical theater. She plays the piano and has cultivated a love of music in her children, who each play at least one other instrument, including viola, violin, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, and cello!
  • She has been quilting and embroidering for about 22 years. She recently designed her very first quilt pattern, which has a Texas theme and is now available in stores.

*The Rest of the Story

Jill met Jeff the day before classes started. Her dad had warned her on the drive to school, “Don't fall in love with the first boy you meet!” Jill feels she did not let her dad down because “Jeff wasn't exactly the first boy I met!” Although Jeff had yet to serve a mission, Jill waited for him during his missionary years and they became engaged shortly after his return. They were married three years (almost to the day) after their first meeting.

In Her Own Words
