Getting to Know You!

How well do you know Shahna Argyle?

The Facts

  • She was born in Abilene, Texas, and raised in Carrollton—making her one of the few native Texans in our ward!
  • She is the oldest of three, with both a sister and a brother.
  • Her “dream job” as a child was that of an elementary school teacher.
  • She met her husband here in Texas while he was serving his mission.*
  • She attended Brigham Young University, majoring in Elementary Education, and finished her degree at the University of North Texas when job opportunities brought them back. She says she is still a “True Blue Cougar through and through” despite the change of venue.
  • She is a stay-at-home mom to five delightful children:
    • Jensen, age 17
    • Tanner, age 16
    • McKinley, age 11
    • Reagan, age 10
    • Brady, age 7
  • She loves to read, averaging 36 to 40 books a year. She also coaches a cheerleading squad that includes her daughters McKinley and Reagan.
  • She currently and faithfully serves as our Stake Primary President, orchestrating a successful stake daddy-daughter dance for the Activity Days girls even though she was short one counselor.

*The Rest of the Story

Shahna was attending school in Utah and came home for a summer visit, first meeting Elder Argyle at her mom’s dinner table. Brent began writing to her as he finished his last two months of service, and they met up again in Utah when he returned home. It didn’t take long for them to come to a mutual agreement, and the “happily ever after” adventures continue these 23 years later!
