Getting to Know You!

How well do you know Nicole Bywater?

The Facts

  • She was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, with four brothers. She has also lived in Provo, Utah, and most recently in Plano. She says that her favorite place in the world to live is right here in Frisco, TX.
  • She studied computer science at Brigham Young University and currently works as a developer for a small application software company headquartered in Orem, Utah. (You can take a peek at her bio here.)
  • Nicole met David through mutual friends while attending BYU. They quickly found that they were infected with the same virus once Nicole rebooted by moving into the apartment of those mutual friends, upgrading her to the same student ward as David and allowing them to navigate their feelings from the same user interface. After 5 months of dating and 6 months of engagement, they were married in December 2010.
  • Nicole is expecting their first child, a girl, who is due to arrive any day! (When asked what her favorite color is, Nicole responded, “I guess now it’s pink!”) This will be the fourth grandchild for Nicole’s parents and the third for David’s parents.
  • Nicole is excited to meet and hold her baby and hopes to figure out the girl thing since she is accustomed to being surrounded by boys.
  • She loves Twix bars, German chocolate cake, and Outback Steakhouse; her favorite childhood memories involve Legos and Harry Potter.
  • Nicole loves sports, especially basketball and racquetball. She also likes to read and play the violin.

In Her Own Words

Who was your favorite school teacher and why?

"One of my favorites was my 8th grade science teacher, Mr. Schlinke, because he had a great sense of humor and his lectures were always very entertaining."

What is your idea of a perfect day?

"I would sleep in, go play basketball, relax and read a book, go out to dinner at Outback with David, and then come home and watch some college basketball on TV."
