Sister Annilee Cook taught our lesson this week. The lesson, "Search Me, O God, and Know My Heart", was an encouragement for us to establish within ourselves the kind of character needed in this life as well as in the life to come.
President Snow taught, "I am under the strongest impression, that the most valuable consideration, and that which will be of the most service when we return to the spirit world, will be that of having established a proper and well defined character as faithful and consistent Latter-day Saints in this state of probation."
Annilee shared her experience in trying to strengthen a particular aspect of her life. She gave herself a challenge and made improvements toward her goal.
Shahna Argyle commented that we need to be patient with ourselves as we seek to become better. Kelsey Fry added that we can only be "perfect" to the best of our ability.
The challenge as given in the lesson is as follows: "I would recommend that [every person] adopt this prayer of David, and see how near he can live according to the light that he has, so as to make it in all sincerity part of his devotions to God."
